Horse Stable Costs

There is quite a wide range in horse stable costs and this is perplexing to some people. There are several reasons why horse stable costs vary so greatly.

Horse Stable Costs

When people are looking for a horse stable to board their animal, they may encounter quite a range of horse stable costs. These costs can range from $100 to $1000 a month and it is sometimes hard to understand why there is such a spread. There are actually several reasons for this and they should be well understood if you are searching for a home for your horse.

When you are looking for an apartment for yourself, the size and the physical layout of the apartment will have much to do with determining the rental cost. A horse stable shares this idea and the larger and better equipped stables will usually charge more for boarding. However, it is not the size of the stalls that is the most important determining factor of horse stable costs. The difference between the horse stable and your prospective apartment will be the services and care provided. If a stable is well staffed and care is given to the cleanliness of the stable and the care and well being of your horse, the stable costs will be higher. This extra costs is going to be used to pay the employees that will be caring for your horse.

If other services such as training are included in the services, you will usually be aware of the additional costs, but this might not always be the case. Make sure that you understand exactly what you are getting for your monthly boarding fee. If it is just a box to put your horse in that may account for a lower cost. If the horse will be cared for in a well ventilated, clean environment staffed by caring and knowledgeable employees, this will explain the higher costs.

You can not make the ultimate decision based solely on cost. You would not accept sub par or dangerous living conditions for yourself just to save a few dollars and you should not impose such a thing on your horse. You should be able to find what you are looking for somewhere in the mid price range, however, of between $300 and $400 dollars a month.

Of course, stable costs will vary from area to area. If you are in a region where there are many horses and many stables, the price will be considerably less. Competition always lowers price and raises standards. If you are in an area where stables are few and far between, you can expect the average costs to be higher. Just remember that costs should never be on the top of your stable evaluation list. The safety and well being of your animal has to come first even if this involves more expense.
