The summer is warm, the spring and fall are just about perfect and the winter is quite mild. Our swimming pool is used by guests and for our Western Riding Summer Camp during most of the year. Ridemore Equestrian Center, LLC
Ridemore provides riding lessons for children of all ages (that includes you, Mom and Dad). We specialize in students new to riding, teaching basic horse psychology, care and safety along with riding skills. Our enclose arena provides a safe environment in which to learn and practice. For those who want more advanced training, we have trainers available to teach both Western and English styles. For those who want the joy of caring for their own horse, we have a lease plan for several. By the use of this plan you can lease the horse you love for 1 day a week to full time. For leased horses, you need only concern yourself with enjoying its companionship; we take care of all of the work and unexpected expenses. This program allows a new rider the chance to try our equine ownership without committing to the full responsibility that ownership would require.

Equest Farm
Students with prior riding experience start in our Riding Academy with a 1/2 hour Evaluation Lesson. After the evaluation, the instructor and student discuss the student's riding skills to determine if private lessons are needed or if group ready. Private lessons are required of new riders until they achieve walk-trot skills and can control the horse. Experienced students move onto groups that are appropriate to their riding skills. The Riding Stables in City Park have provided three generations of New Orleanians with many wonderful childhood memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Three sisters who spent their childhood riding horses in City Park assumed management of the stables. After six months of renovation, Equest Farm opened in January 2001. Leslie Kramer, the "middle" sister, is Equest Farm's General Manager. Equest Farm's mission is to provide a safe and wholesome environment in which future generations can enjoy their passion for horses. Our Riding Academy provides both children and adults the opportunity to gain confidence and assume responsibility by adhering to the principles of horsemanship.

Hall's Hunters & Jumpers
Hall's Hunters & Jumpers (HHJ) Equestrian Training Center includes two privately owned show and boarding facilities catering to the showman, pleasure rider, and breeder, servicing the the Baton Rouge area, and providing approved CHA licensed professional trainers in the disciplines of Hunt Seat, Show Jumping and Stock Seat. An approved and licensed USDF Dressage judge is on staff for clinic and lesson purposes. The facility is currently located at Oakland Farm just off Old Jefferson at Oakland Drive. The facility offers a well maintained 25-stall barn, outdoor lighted riding arena, outdoor jumping ring, Dressage arena and 55 acres of pasture turnout as well as natural fences set in a cross-country setting for schooling. It accommodates 30 horses and approximately 20 ponies. There is an outdoor open hunter ring, (the traditional means of training horses and ponies in hunt seat), a smaller ring for beginner training, round pen for lunging and a 20x60 meter dressage ring currently under construction and scheduled for completion in the fall of 2007.
