BLACK HORSE FARM
Over the recent past we have seen a big change in the world of training horses. Now we think about training or teaching a horse instead of “breaking” a horse. It is with this more modern way of training that we see greater success in the horse training world, both for the owners and trainers as well as the horses. Natural Horsemanship training has become very popluar over the recent years. I like it because it allows us to work with the horse through it's own natural thoughts and reactions. It is done without fear or physical punishment. It is accomplished through respect. There are a lot of Natural Horsemanship Clinicians out there today. We are lucky and fortunate to have Trainer Chris Lombard working with us here at Black Horse Farm. Chris is seen here working Angus our 2 year old Percheron Stallion. Chris is avalaible to work with your horse here at Black Horse Farm. To learn more about Chris visit his web site at www.chrislombard.com. To schedule time with Chris please email or call. This spring and Summer we will be holding monthly clinics with Chris. Look at our events page for scheduleing

Kane Kountry Farm
We have several wonderful lesson horses that have competed in hunters, jumpers, eventing and dressage not only in Maine but throughout New England.
Several of our riders have qualified and ridden in the Maine Equitation Finals. In 1999, Shannon Kane finished 6th and Lynda Bond 8th in the adult division. Shannon Kane and Kate Nolan have also qualified and ridden at the New England Horse Council Equitation finals. In addition to our wonderful equitation horses we have had some successful event horses such as Kanes Konfussion and Tracks Polly Sue that both competed in USCTA events in New England. In addition to the showing activities, we also go fox hunting and to hunter paces. We teach everyone from the littlest leadline rider to the oldest adults and have had certified instructors on our staff. Our stable is relatively small in the number of boarders that we accommodate, which allows us to give personalized service to our clients. Sea Coast Pony Club operates out of our farm. We recently purchased a thoroughbred stallion, "Our Jeffs Lad"He has exceptional racing bloodlines and is ruggedly built enough to please Quarter Horse breeders looking to add size to their offspring.

Wanda is an AQHA Professional Horseman with over 24 years of training and instructing experience. She offers halter and trail conditioning, and training and instruction in Western pleasure and horsemanship, English pleasure and equitation, showmanship and trail. This training and instruction has led to champions and reserve champions not only in AQHA but open shows as well. Her basis of training and instruction starts in the ground work. Wanda believes if a horse does not respect you on the ground, they will not respect you under saddle and with that same thought, the rider must have respect for the horse they handle and ride.
