We offer 2 or 3 hour guided trail rides in the beautiful Patuxent River State Forrest(intermediate to experience riders only).The 3 hour ride includes lunch on the trail at no additional cost. The guided rides are $40 per hour per person, minimum 2 hours. Numerous and varied trails are available so repeat customers can ride and not see the same scenery twice. Bring your own horse, if you like, and spend the day riding for only $25 for all day. We're open 7 days a week all year. We also offer the following services:
Overnight rough camping area. Child Birthday parties with pony rides and hayrides.
Overnight, weekly or monthly trailer parking. Riding Lessons (Western or English).
Horse boarding (field or barn kept). Calm,quiet horses for sale or lease.

WHEATON PARK STABLE
One of the few stables in the Washington D.C. area that offer escorted trail rides for adults and children. Escorted trail rides are available Sunday afternoons and last one hour. The cost for the trail ride is $35.00 per person . Reservations are required, and may be made no earlier than the previous Sunday. Groups of 5 or more may reserve earlier and a deposit of ½ the total amount is required when making the reservation. We do not do lead line or pony rides. Children must be at least 8 years of age. For your safety and the well being of our horses, the weight limit is 250 pounds. What to wear for your trail ride:You must wear long pants - no shorts. Boots or closed shoes with a small heel are preferred. Sandals, clogs or open shoes are not allowed. An ASTM certified riding helmet will be provided.

MILLERSVILLE STABLES
Our lesson program teaches the beginnings of Western riding. The student is taught from the ground up. They start with grooming, general horse care, and tacking the horse the correct way. The student will then learn proper posture, foot position and how to control the horse from a walk to a slow trot. We teach all ages, starting at eight (8) years old. The length of each lesson is about an hour, and the number of lessons depends on the student.

Woodland Horse Center
If you want to take horseback riding lessons in Maryland, Woodland Horse Center is place for you! Woodland offers riding lessons for children and adults in English balanced seat equitation. Woodland also has a tack shop and offers boarding.
You'll see just a few of the fun activities we are offering. Our make up policy is designed so that you can make up lessons whether the missed lesson is due to our schedule or yours, by simply checking with your instructor or calling us to find out when other classes of your level are available. You never loose a lesson as long as you stay an active student at Woodland. Make up lessons can NOT be added on to your time of payment. Your payment is always due in a timely fashion whether you have missed lessons or not. Since winter is arriving soon, there are several things to remember about winter riding.
