Howell's Riding Stable
The perfect outing for your family or group awaits at Howell's Riding Stables. We are a rustic, third generation family farm, nestled between Mullet and Burt Lakes on Northern Michigans's Inland Waterway.Unwind on horsback on a scenic trail ride that winds through pasture and wooded countryside. We have horses available for all levels of experience. All rides are guided. We recommend you wear jeans and sturdy shoes, preferably with a heel.250 lb. weight limit. Our rates start at $20.00 an hour.

Whichever ride you choose, you may also reserve breakfast or dinner along with your ride! The Rockin' R will cook your meal over an open campfire (weather permitting) and serve you country style! Singalongs are always a great way for families and friends to have good 'ol fun and what better way to have a singalong than on a hayride at the Rockin' R! Groups big and small can sit atop the haywagon to experience old fashioned country fun! If romance is your style, then a carriage ride is what the Rockin' R has in mind! Dressed in white and trimmed with plush burgandy seats, the Rockin' R carriage will carry you and yours along the shores of Bear Lake to enjoy a beautiful Northern Michigan sunset.

Highwater Corral at Hell Creek Ranch
Highwater Corral handles the horseback riding. Our hand-led pony rides are extremely popular and are sure to put a smile on your child's face! The standard pony ride is a great introduction for the tiniest to the most timid rider. Five minutes for five dollars! We dare you to find a better deal for the li'l dudes! Just like our Li'l Buckaroos ride, we hand lead your young'uns (kids aged 2 to 7) down a trail -- not in circles -- for 15 minutes! The success of our Li'l Buckaroos ride has prompted us to add this shortened version for those kids just a bit too timid for 30 minutes on the trail.
