Horseback riding at Cedars of Lebanon Riding Stables is a must do on your visit to our area. Our gentle horses and friendly wranglers eagerly await your arrival. Located inside the Cedars of Lebanon State Park just 6 miles south of I-40 on Hwy 231. Approximately 30 minutes of NashvilleYou and your family will enjoy a peaceful guided trail ride through the gorgeous Middle TN woods of Cedars of Lebanon State Park. Our ride takes approximately 45 minutes to complete (depending on how fast the horses are moving) and children as young as 7 can ride a horse alone. 270 pound weight limit. The rate is $18.00 each. Children 3-6 can double with an adult on the trail or take a horseback ride hand led by one of our wranglers around the barnyard. Trail Double $8.00Lead around $1.00 per minute (up to 20 minutes)

PEACHTREE FARMS
Polly Peach Grammer has been teaching day camp and clinics for over 50 years, Her first camps were held in the infield of the race track at Maryland Farms. Her vast knowledge of horses, a teaching degree from Peabody College, a mother of 4 and grandmother of 8 give her plenty of experience to be a camp director Peachtree Farm offers camps during the spring, summer and holidays. Our camps are designed to improve all aspects of horsemanship for riders of all ages. Some camps are specialized while others cater to every child's dream of owning a horse. Sportsmanlike conduct and a spirit of cooperation, patience and kindness are encouraged in the fun activity of horseback riding. Children age 4 and up learn all aspects of correct horsemanship in a safe environment. Riders are taught the proper basic balance seat riding. Day Camps are scheduled Monday through Friday each week of the summer, during spring breaks and at Christmas. Riders bring a sack lunch and enjoy the feeling of owning their own horse for a week. Ride the trails of Great Smoky National Park, just 12 miles away. Your horse will enjoy a 30 foot paddock with shelter and running water. A wash rack is available, along with a large outdoor arena. Ride exciting wooded trails with spectacular views and mountain adventure. Intimate groups are fun for all experience levels. Horses are chosen to accommodate all riders, beginner through advanced. Guests are invited to participate in the handling of horses before and after the ride.Instruction in horseback riding as well as basic horsemanship is available.The proprietor has an AAS in horse husbandry and has gained years of first hand experience on ranches in the rugged Rocky Mountains before settling in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. For a safe and comfortable ride we suggest riders bring raingear, water bottle or canteen and wear long pants and sturdy shoes/boots with a LOW heel (No sandals allowed).

BLUE POINTE STABLES
Blue Pointe Stables is located on a farm that was established in the early 1800’s. There are several notable points of interest including a pre-civil war log cabin and family cemetery that dates back into 1880. You can enjoy the peaceful fields, babbling creeks and cool forests while on your ride. Wild life is abundant and you can see deer, beaver, squirrels and blue herons at any time. Our horses are some of the best quality stock you will find in the southeast. Their disposition is necessary for your enjoyment. Therefore a quiet, kind and gentle nature is a pre-requisite for inclusion in our herd. Any level of rider will enjoy our trails, from the seasoned pros to the novices that are just starting out. Our facility is state of the art and boasts a 200 x 70 covered arena, 16 stall barn and individual grass turn out lots.

SEQUATCHIE VALLEY B&B GUEST RANCH
Riding Lesson Program: Our weekly riding lesson program, for ages 4 thru adults, is sure to educate those avid horse enthusiasts about the wide world of horses! Students are trained 'from the ground up' here at the Sequatchie Valley B&B Guest Ranch.Every rider learns how to care for his or her lesson horse or show pony just as if it were there very own! Safety, grooming, parts of the horse, tacking up, equipment care...are all part of the program. Younger students starting at age 4 are taught in private lessons, while older children and adults typically start in small group lessons.Students have the opportunity to learn Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, and/or the Western disciplines of riding. Beginner students need to allow approximately 1 hr for their lesson time, which includes grooming, tacking, and riding. Once students are able to completely groom and tack up unassisted, they will graduate to a solid 45 minutes of mounted riding time.
