SMITH MOUNTAIN FARM & STABLES
We offer guided horseback trail riding. The gentle walk only riding pace allows for you to view Smith Mountain and the surrounding area scenery. The ride is through open fields, woods, creeks and steep inclines and is around 2 hours in length. We also offer "HORSE CAMP" every Saturday morning from 9 am to 11. Ages 8 years and up! Rent the log cabin and relax and enjoy the country farm atmosphere. Cabin has central air and heat, full kitchen and bath. Can sleep up to six people. Available minutes from us is Smith Mountain Lake. Try some guided striper bass fishing or enjoy the lake by renting a boat or jet ski. Also near the lake is golfing and dining. Family fun for everyone.

THE JBiT RANCH
The JBiT Ranch is an instructional riding facility geared towards pleasure riding rather than competition. Our program's primary goal is SAFETY and learning to enjoy horses in a fun, comprehensive horsemanship program. Our program allows students to build upon skills and progress at their own pace. This program provides a solid foundation including learning to handle the horse from the ground, properly groom and tack the horse, and the basics of balanced seat riding in either the English or Western disciplines. We have brought many students through our program with the ultimate goal of owning their own horse and have taught them all aspects surrounding ownership as well as helped them to find an appropriate first horse. Many have remained and board their new friend here with us.

FORT VALLEY RIDING STABLES
All the trails listed here are in the south end of Fort Valley. If you ride north of Edinburg Gap there are just as many miles of trail in the north end of the valley. I have only been here in Fort Valley ten years and have not had time to explore any of the northern trails yet but there are National Forest maps of the area. For those of you who enjoy Endurance Riding competition, many of these trails in Fort Valley are the same trails ridden by
International Endurance Champions during competition rides and for training purposes
